Husky Happenings for the week of March 9-13

Carrots, crackers and cheese for snack this morning. Thank you Mrs. Gardiner :)

What an extraordinary visit from Jacob Brammer and Albert Awachie from the Saskatchewan Roughriders 💚.
We are so honoured that you chose our school to come and talk about the importance of literacy and to share the Grey Cup.
Both students and staff had an amazing time.
A big thank you to Cameco, Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Northern Village of Ile à la Crosse.

Notes and paper for this contest will go home tomorrow morning with students.

A few more photos from Papa Ted's excursion with grade 3M last week.

Papa Ted sent a few photos from his trip with grade 3M last week. They snowshoed about 1.5 kms return. They saw rabbit, coyote and squirrel tracks. They also walked mindfully for 2 minutes in silence just enjoying the peace and scenery. A very healthy activity for the mind body and soul 😊

Husky Happenings for the week of March 2-6,2026

We are sooooo excited to share that our gym is open! Yayyyyyy ⭐️😊. We will be having a special celebration with staff and students on Friday, February 27th and will be inviting our community in on March 17th. We would like to thank the board members of the Ile à la Crosse School Division 112, our Chief Financial Officer and our Director of Education for all of their hard work in ensuring our students have a beautiful gymnasium.

Kokom Edna has been working on a Sakitawak - 250th mural with our grades 4-6 students this week. The finished masterpiece will be released during our Michif Festival Week.

Thank you to all of our families that joined us last week for Family Fun Night.

Mental Health Resources.

Important information!

Ile à la Crosse Eye Clinic

Silly Socks & Poutine was an absolute hit today! Our kids absolutely loved it! Thank you Mrs. Gardiner and Kokom Rita.

Today, Mrs. Favel, aunty Simone and a group of 13 students went to the presentation by Maddy McCallum. The students were engaged in Maddy's story "As I Am Is Enough". The activities were well recieved by all. A big thank you to Maddy for her bravery for sharing her story with us. Our students enjoyed the day.

Yesterday, we took a photo of Mrs. M-D and Savannah as they were the only two brave enough to wear their Toronto Maple Leaf jerseys for Spirit Week. But once Savannah spotted Mrs. Favel, she called her over to join the photo and we couldn't resist.

Boys Club every second Wednesday during the lunch hour. Boys Club is with Mr. C and aunty Simone. It's a place where boys can come and play games, learn about mental health and have a place to chat. All boys in grades 4-6 are welcome to join. Check the Husky Happenings for the next Boys Club.
